The movie, starring Unni Mukundan, was released in theatres in the second week of January, and the movie has been receiving many promotions. Celebrities from Mollywood shared their posts regarding the film all over social media.

Manju Warrier was one of them to share a goodwill post about the film. But the actor started receiving trolls as soon as she deleted the post. The actress was subjected to cyber-attacks and backlash for removing the post.

On this background, actor Unni Mukundan has come to the forefront to make things clear and extend support to Manju. He recently posted a note on his social media asking everyone to not drag her into such feeble concerns. He explained that the deletion of the post after a week was something Manju’s social media team had already informed him about. He and his team don’t see an issue there either. Hence, he urged the audience to stop spreading unwanted news regarding the movie and Manju. "It’s a request not to drag an honoured and celebrated actor with such feeble concerns. I hope all concerns related to these issues end here,” read his post.

Helmed by Vishnu Mohan, Meppadiyan is a family drama made under the banner of Unni Mukundan films. The movie revolves around Jayakrishnan (Mukundan), who is an automobile mechanic, and some unexpected incidents in his life after he buys a property for his sister. The movie also includes actors like Saiju Kurup, Kottayam Ramesh, Anju Kurian, Aju Varghese, Nisha Sarang, and Kalabhavan Shajohn.

Unni Mukundan is also gearing up for the release of Bro Daddy next, in which he plays a pivotal role alongside Mohanlal and Prithviraj. Meanwhile, Manju has a lot of ambitious projects lined up in her pipeline. The titles include Jack and Jill, Kayattam, Padavettu, and Meri Awaaz Suno.
