Unknown fact: Not Ajith Kumar, Thalapathy Vijay was the first choice for this hit romantic drama

In a surprising revelation, it has come to light that Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay was the first choice for the lead role in the hit movie Kandukondain Kandukondain. The movie's producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu recently revealed that the role eventually went to Ajith Kumar due to Vijay's non-availability of dates.

Kandukondain Kandukondain is a Tamil romantic drama, directed by Rajiv Menon, starring Ajith, Mammootty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Tabu, and Abbas in lead roles. The movie was based on Jane Austen's novel Sense and Sensibility. Released in 2000, this movie was widely regarded as one of the best films ever produced in Tamil cinema. When it was released in cinemas, the audience at the box office welcomed it with open arms, and it went on to become a critical and commercial success. A significant contributing factor to the movie's triumph was the score by the Oscar-winning AR Rahman. The music elevated the already exceptional story to new heights.
