You remember her as the Chulbuli aunt Indu Mehra from Dil Dhadakne Do, but did you know that she was also part of Irrfan Khan's Madaari?

Ayesha Raza Mishra, who has become one of the strongest female supporting characters in the past few years, has been working in shows, films, short films since nearly two decades now.

Yet, somehow, Raza is an underrated actor, who is yet to receive her due credit.

Here are a few films and web shows of the actress that you absolutely must watch, to understand her as an actor...

Khaney Mein Kya Hai?

A short film, Khaane Mein Kya Hai? sees Raza in the role of a mother. The nine-minute film has various high points and perfectly shows the generation gap in the form of mother (Raza) and daughter (Shikha Talsania).

The short of the film is that of the two women discussing bedroom topics while cooking in the kitchen. Raza's character ironically says, "Poora menu woh log decide karte hai," referring to how men like control in the bedroom. Her daughter, however, contradicts the opinion and says that women should have a say too.

Khaane Mein Kya Hai? can be viewed on YouTube.

Bang Baaja Baaraat

In Bang Baaja Baaraat, Raza played the role of Roli Sharma. Also called Rolly, she is married into a traditional family and does not understand modern culture. Hence, when she realizes her son Pawan (Ali Fazal) is going to get married into a family where the girl Sahana (Angira Dhar)'s mother Sushmita (Shenaaz Patel) has a boyfriend, Sarang (Neil Bhoopalam) instead of a husband Ranjeet Arora (Ranjit Kapur), she is apprehensive about the setup.

Bang Baaja Baaraat, like mentioned, was the story of Pawan and Sahana, who are trying to get married. However their families' ideologies do not meet. Moreover, the family has complexities within itself and even outside them.

The web show is available on YouTube.

Madaari

Raza played the role of Home Minister Prashant Goswami (Tushar Dalvi)'s wife and Rohan Goswami (Vishesh Bansal)'s mother in the film Madaari.

The movie was based on Nirmal Kumar (Irrfan Khan)'s revenge for his son's death. He kidnapped Rohan to execute his plan of action.

The film can be streamed on Zee5.

Made In Heaven

Raza played Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur)'s landlord Ramesh Gupta (Vinay Pathak)'s wife Renu Gupta. She was the typical nagging housewife who coaxed her husband into being more alert about his surroundings.

Her fears came true when the tenant, Mehra's imtimate video with another man was streamed onto their laptop. An even bigger shock came her way when Renu realized her husband actually supported the video rather than her ideology.

Made In Heaven was a show based on the life of wedding planners, who have to balance a life within work, keep the unmarried couple happy and yet find time for their own life. The show highlights how more often than not, the day-to-day situation impacts their own life.

The web show is an Amazon Prime Video original.

Permanent Roommates

Raza played the role of Tanya (Nidhi Singh)'s aunt, Ila maasi. She was the most supportive aunt Tanya could find. The relationship between them was more of a mother and daughter. Ironically, in a later scene, Tanya actually approves of her maasi taking on the role of her mother.

Permanent Roommates is the story of Mikhil (Sumeet Vyas) and Tanya. He has gone down on his knees and their wedding preparations have begun. The story is about the couple taking on the role of being 'Permanent Roommates'.

The web show can be streamed on YouTube.
