Ullozhukkku, or Undercurrent, is a moving drama about lies in a dysfunctional family and how they damage trust and relationships. This narrative relates the tale of a family in Kuttanad that had to wait for the rainy season to end in order to bury a loved one, as the floodwaters had to disappear. However, as they wait, a number of lies and secrets are made public, casting doubt on the core values of the family. Arjun Radhakrishnan, Veena Nair, and Alencier Ley Lopez all have important roles in this project.
Social media is ablaze with praise for the trio and admiration for Malayalam cinema's willingness to experiment with different genres. Celebrities expressed their gratitude for the entire Ullozhukku team on social media as well. With Parvathy and Urvashi, two of India's most talented actors, in the key parts, the public had high expectations for the film before its premiere.
The review on OTTplay claims that Ullozhukku will undoubtedly touch viewers emotionally because Parvathy and Urvashi's outstanding performances support Christo Tomy's assured debut. The emotional bond and dynamic between Urvashi and Parvathy's characters deftly maintain the movie's viability.
