Very recently, popular producer KP Sreekanth divulged a few key details regarding the development of Upendra's rather alluring film UI. KP Sreekanth, along with G. Manoharan of Lahari Films, is co-producing UI which marks the Real Star's return to the director's chair. And the current buzz is that the film will be a technical spectacle which will redefine the standards set in the Kannada film industry.
In the same update, KP Sreekanth shared that the entire team, led by Upendra, has striven extremely hard in rendering the film as a bona fide big-screen experience. About 80-90% of the shoot was already complete, he said in the interview which took place about a month ago, adding that the film is slated to arrive in cinemas at the end of 2023. A formal announcement about the same is expected to be made at the earliest.

With the release now likely in sight, it has now emerged that the makers plan on beginning the promotions in the month of September. According to the latest reports, the maiden teaser of Upendra's UI will be released on September 18.
Made at a budget of over Rs. 100 crores, UI boasts several technical innovations including a 3D body scan (reports say the first film in Asia to feature this technology) which was executed with the help of 200 cameras and as many as 1400 VFX shots, among others. Other recent reports inform us that Upendra and Co. have erected a massive set in Bengaluru to shoot important sequences of the film.
Upendra, who is also actively involved in politics through his party Prajakeeya, has focused on societal issues in his more recent work as a director. Having entered the film industry as a writer and director, Upendra made a mark with 1990s films like Shhh!, Om, Upendra and 'A' - the latter two saw him play the lead role as well.
As far as the cast of UI is concerned, Upendra will headline the film and he is joined by Reeshma Nanaiah, Sunny Leone, Nidhi Subbaiah, Murali Krishna, Indrajit Lankesh and others.
