The UEFA European Championship 2024 is in full swing. It has been raining goals with Germany and Spain showing their mettle in their first game with Scotland and Croatia. Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala’s Germany started their Euro 2024 campaign with a massive win of 5-1. Alvaro Morata’s Spain scored 3-0 against Luka Modrić and company.

Meanwhile, Denmark and Slovenia tied the match with one goal each. However, it was Christian Eriksen who was the showstopper in that match. The footballer met with uncertainty after a massive cardiac emergency and then, in 2024, he made a glorious comeback with a goal.

In 2021, on June 11, Eriksen suffered a cardiac problem and collapsed on the ground while playing against Finland in the Euro Cup. His football career was almost over after he underwent surgery. He took his time to recover and got back to his feet. He resumed his journey with Manchester United. On Sunday, he scored the first goal in the match.

Eriksen’s goal came from a throw. Jonas Wind backheeled the ball to Erikson and he made no mistake. Denmark started with a composed attacking line from the beginning of the match. Sloven appeared a little scattered. They took around 25 minutes to settle down. Their equaliser came at the 75th minute.

While it was a 1-1 draw for Denmark and Slovenia, it was the glorious comeback of Eriksen that stole the hearts of football fans. Meanwhile, England – one of the favorites in the UEFA European Championship 2024 – won their first match against Serbia 1-0. The 20-year-old Real Madrid star secured the future of England in the 13th minute with his goal. In another match, the Netherlands defeated Poland 2-1.

In India, Sony Sports Network will broadcast the matches and the Euro 2024 will also stream live on SonyLiv. You can catch them with OTTplay Premium.
