In a surprising turn of events, actor-turned-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin last night shared his review of Leo, which stars Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay. Addressing Vijay as "Anna", which means elder brother, he praised Lokesh Kanagaraj's "excellent filmmaking."

However, the highlight of his tweet was him explicitly confirming that Vijay's Leo comes within the same unitive as Kamal Haasan's Vikram and Karthi's Kaithi . Udhayanidhi used the hashtag #LCU in his tweet, ending all the speculations about whether or not this part is an evolving cinematic universe.

"Thalabathy @actorvijay Anna’s #Leo @Dir_Lokesh excellent filmmaking , @anirudhofficial music , @anbariv master @7screenstudio #LCU! All the best team !," Udhayanidhi tweeted.

Even though Udhayanidhi has announced retirement from acting to focus full-time on his political aspirations, he continues to remain an avid movie fan. He never misses watching new movies and promoting them if he likes them. He doesn't limit himself just to Tamil movies. Earlier, he also praised the Kannada romantic drama Sapta Sagaradaache Ello and the Malayalam action drama RDX .

Is Udhayanidhi Stalin against Thalapathy Vijay?

It's also noteworthy that Udhayanidhi was accused of trying to sabotage the release of Leo. It was alleged that Udhayanidhi tried to secure the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of the movie in Leo for his home production banner Red Giant Movies and he was miffed when it didn't happen. He was also accused of using the state's political machinery to cause all sorts of trouble for the release of Leo.

Udhayanidhi was also trolled after the filmmakers cancelled the much-awaited audio release event for Leo . While the filmmakers claimed that the security concerns stemming from the overcrowding were the main reason, some claimed that the government denied them the required permissions to hold the event. And Udhayanidhi was presented as the mastermind of all the efforts to sabotage Leo and Thalapathy Vijay.

However, Udhayanidhi's latest tweet appreciating Leo dismantles all other conspiracy theories.

Leo is due to arrive in cinemas on October 19.
