Actor-politician Udhayanidhi, who has been regularly attending film events of late, has revealed that he has completed the second schedule of Maamannan which has Mari Selvaraj at its helm. He also posted a few pictures from the set which has him, Keerthy Suresh and Mari celebrating the occasion by cutting cakes along with the crew members.
In his tweet, Udhay sarcastically requested Keerthy and Fahadh Faasil to allot more dates to begin the film's next schedule. He also apologized in a funny manner to Mari for making him reshoot many scenes because of him.
A few days ago, the movie was in the news when its cinematographer Theni Eswar celebrated his birthday on set. Udhay, Mari, Fahadh and Vadivelu were spotted at the location. Udhay had said recently that the movie is likely to be his last project as an actor.
Maamannan which has music composed by AR Rahman is expected to release in theatres later this year. If everything goes well, the movie will be Udhay's second release in 2022 after Nenjuku Needhi (streaming on SonyLIV). The project, unlike Mari's earlier films, is said to be a commercial entertainer though he is handling a relevant topic in the film.
Maamannan marks Udhay, Fahadh, Vadivelu and Keerthy acting together for the first time. The film is Vadivelu's comeback to the silver screen after a short hiatus. The veteran comedian is also acting in the lead in the much-hyped Naai Sekar Returns, a spin-off from his character from Thalai Nagaram.
Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies is producing the project which is Fahadh's fourth movie in Tamil after Velaikkaran, Super Deluxe and the recent release Vikram. Udhay's Nenjuku Needhi was bankrolled by Boney Kapoor's Bay View Projects.
