Twinkle Khanna shares an adorable childhood photo with father Rajesh Khanna on their shared birthday

On their respective birthdays, actor and novelist Twinkle Khanna posted a throwback picture on her Instagram with her father-actor Rajesh Khanna. As she uploaded the black-and-white photo of herself wearing a dress and Rajesh Khanna grinning warmly at her, she described the moment as "bittersweet."

Twinkle Khanna captioned the photo, “A bittersweet shared birthday and a lifetime of memories.”

With the late 1960s movie Aakhri Raat, which was also India's official entry for the Oscars the same year, Rajesh Khanna began his career. In films like Aaradhna, Kati Patang, Anand, Amar Prem, Chhoti Bahu, Guddi, Haathi Mere Saathi, Sitapur Ki Geeta, Namak Haraam, and others, he played a number of well-liked and highly praised roles. On July 18, 2012, Rajesh Khanna passed away at his Mumbai house after a protracted battle with cancer.

The eldest child of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia is Twinkle. Her younger sister Rinkie Khanna, who has also appeared in a few movies, is also an actress. Twinkle made her acting debut alongside Bobby Deol in the movie Barsaat. She later starred in a number of other movies, including Jab Pyaar Kissi se Hota Hai, Baadshah, Chal Mere Bhai, Mela, Jodi No. 1, and a few others. After that, Twinkle quit acting and is now a writer. In 2001, she wed Akshay Kumar, and together they have 2 children, Aarav and Nitara.

Twinkle recently revealed that her father's astrologer had predicted her marriage to Akshay Kumar during a conversation with Jackie Shroff. Twinkle claimed she was unaware about Akshay Kumar at the time. “He (Rajesh Khanna) had an astrologer and that astrologer, before I met my husband, that astrologer told (Rajesh Khanna) and he told me, 'You'll marry Akshay Kumar.' I said, 'Who?' The full name. 'You'll marry Akshay Kumar.' I don't even know him," she said.
