Kannada actor Raj B Shetty talked about working with Mammootty on the former's Malayalam debut film in an interview with OTTplay. He asserted that the presence of Malayalam megastar in the film is an inherent certainty, especially since his production company, Mammootty Kampany, has chosen to provide financial backing for it.
He said, "We all know that there will be no compromise in quality when it is a Mammooty project." The Toby actor continued by saying that Vysakh, the movie's director, also had a very clear vision for the character. From our very first discussion about this project, he continued, "I understood his clarity about the character."
After receiving extensive briefings about the film and project, the actor stated that his primary goal was to deliver a strong performance. I thought that if I tried my best, the audience would react favourably. After the release of the trailer, I am thrilled to hear from viewers who found it entertaining', Raj stated.
In the action-drama Turbo, starring Mammootty, he plays the antagonist, Vetrivel Shanmugha Sundaram. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on May 23. This film, which also features prominent stars from other industries, marks the Malayalam debut of Raj.
Raj stated that the project was exciting for him because, in his career, he has not played a character as large-scale. He said, "Vetrivel Shanmugha Sundaram has a peculiar psychology, as he is not affected by any circumstance or bothered about society's judgements." The actor intriguingly maintained the character's mindset, which gives him a sense of self-assurance, flair, and swagger.
This character inspired me to dedicate myself to this movie right from the start. I personally found my Malayalam debut to be more exciting because of this role," he continued. Vysakh was likewise confident about him portraying this character, according to Raj.
