During a press conference to promote his upcoming movie Turbo, Mammootty provided a brief synopsis of the story. The actor had previously disclosed in interviews that there is a subplot involving a scam in the film.
Mammootty clarified that Jose is just a regular tourist driver who lives in a remote area and gets into minor altercations during the local festivals. He is not a goon or a mafia boss. The main plot of the movie, he continued, is how he would fare in the face of opponents three times stronger than himself.
The Bramayugam actor talked about his role as Jose in the Vyshak-directed action movie. The megastar of Malayalam asserted that there are no parallels between his character, Jose, and his past characters in humorous gangster films in Malayalam.

Turbo is going to be a real treat for the actor’s ardent fans as well as the Malayalam audience, who has always loved his performance in "Achayan" (traditional Malayali Christian) characters. This expectation was sparked by the announcement of the film. "I have created numerous characters with a Christian background and set in rural, hilly areas; nonetheless, each character is unique in their own manner," he remarked. The actor went on to say that the film's entire plot, which was primarily filmed in Tamil Nadu, is surrounded by various circumstances.
The megastar of Malayalam said that there is not much humour in the movie because Jose, the main character, is short-tempered and in distress because of this attitude. He claimed, "He does not have much time for comical moments because he gets into enough trouble and is trying to survive as well as protect his loved ones amidst all these problems."
The actor also mentioned how curious he was to hear what the audience thought of the film opening in theatres on May 23. "I fully rely on the viewers, not just the technicians or the director. To learn more about Jose, see the movie in theatres," he stated.
