To the delight of movie buffs, a number of Malayalam films are now available on SonyLIV. The well-known OTT platform started to stream Dhyan Sreenivasan's Varshangalkku Shesham and Nivin Pauly's Malayalee From India recently. In the meantime, a few more eagerly awaited ones will debut digitally in August on the same streaming service. These will also be accessible on OTTplay Premium.
Malayalam OTT releases on SonyLIV
Brinda (August 2)
The protagonist of the multilingual web series Brinda is Trisha. With this project, the South Indian actress makes her OTT debut. Under the direction of Surya Manoj Vangala, Trisha plays a police officer. Indrajith Sukumaran, Anand Sami, Rakendu Mouli, Aamani, Jaya Prakash, and Ravindra Vijay all play significant roles in this series.
Turbo (August 9)
On August 9, 2024's first half blockbuster from Malayalam cinema, Turbo, will be available for streaming on Sony LIV. The movie is expected to be released in five languages on the OTT platform. In the action drama, business moguls, underworld organisations, and the police all get involved in Turbo Jose's battle to save his loved ones in Chennai.
Jai Mahendran (Yet to be confirmed)
This Malayalam web series was supposed to release in February, but was postponed for unknown reasons. In Jai Mahendra, a cunning government official in a Taluk office, Mahendran uses powerplay within the system to accomplish his objectives. His beliefs are questioned and his liberty at work is restricted when he becomes a victim of the same power struggle. Saiju Kurup plays the lead in the web series.
Thalavan (Yet to be confirmed)
Following a fantastic theatrical run, moviegoers and fans of Asif Ali and Biju Menon are eagerly awaiting the film's digital release. By the end of August or beginning of September, it is reasonable to assume that Thalavan will be available on the platform. The film is a carefully made thriller that keeps viewers wondering how the police will solve the complex murder case as they watch.
