Trailer sets a record of sorts
The Road is Trisha's next women-centric film after Raangi, and is billed as a revenge thriller. The trailer has hit 5 million views in a span of 24 hours and has been trending on the third position ever since its release. The video gives a glimpse about how Trisha's character Meera sets out to solve a mystery that left her sleepless. As she takes off on the road, things take a murky turn when the vehicles that meet with accidents go missing. It looks like The Road will be quite an action-packed film, just like its tagline, 'Revenge in 462 kms'.
Star cast and crew
The film is all set to be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The star cast includes Dancing Rose Shabeer Kallarakkal, Santhosh Prathap, Mia George, MS Bhaskar, Vivek Prasanna, Vela Ramamoorthy, Laxmi Priya, Semmalar Annam, Raatchasan Vinoth and Karupu Nambiyaar to name a few. Music for the film is by Sam CS. While the cinematography is by KG Venkatesh, editing is by AR Shivaraj. The stunts have been choreographed by Phoenix Prabhu. The Road is bankrolled by AAA Cinemaa Pvt Limited.
Trisha on a high after Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan
Ever since Trisha appeared as Ilaiya Piratti Kundavai in historical fiction, the actress has been much in demand. She is playing the lead in Leo opposite Vijay, after a span of 14 long years. Trisha is also the frontrunner for Ajith's next with Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaa Muyarchi. The actress is also in talks for Kamal Haasan's next with Mani Ratnam, which is tentatively being referred to as KH234.
