Celebrating Christmas in a unique way, actress Trisha spent the holiday on the set of her upcoming Malayalam film, Identity. Despite it being the first time she worked during this festive season, Trisha expressed only gratitude for the opportunity to be part of this project.
Filmmaker duo Anas Khan and Akhil Paul of Forensic fame are helming this project, which Trisha described as "a big film for Malayalam." The film is headlined by Malayalam star Tovino Thomas.
Trisha is quite upbeat about her role in Identity as she praised Anas Khan and Akhil Paul for producing "such a good script" that has offered her a very refreshing role to perform, lamenting the prevalent trend of typecasting heroines in many Indian films.
Trisha felt that Identity would be a prestigious addition to her filmography while heaping praises on the quality of films that are made by Malayalam filmmakers. "The main reason I am doing this film is I have a huge respect for Malayalam cinema. I know that cinema is global and pan-Indian all of that. But to have a (Malayalam) film in your biodata is a privilege. Because Malayalam cinema makes great content," she told Mathrubhumi.
Identity is only Trisha's third Malayalam film. She made her debut in Malayalam with Hey Jude in 2018. Following this she was roped in to play the female lead in superstar Mohanlal's Ram. Billed as a big-budget espionage thriller, Ram hit a roadblock after the outbreak of the pandemic. Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, Ram has now been shelved owing to financial troubles.
Trisha also recently shot for the upcoming Tamil film Vidaa Muyarchi in Azerbaijan. Starring Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar in the lead role, the film is written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni and is due to arrive in cinemas next year.
