Sandeep Reddy Vanga's controversial 2023 film Animal catapulted Triptii Dimri to stardom. The actor, who doesn't fit the typical entertainment industry mould, has been in films including Laila Majnu, Qala, and Bulbbul. Since Triptii had never attended acting school before, her path was far from smooth. She recently spoke about her emotional roller coaster on the set of Sajid Ali's Laila Majnu.
Triptii revealed to Filmfare that she had no idea what she was doing when it came to acting, so she started taking seminars. Even by that point, she hadn't done any acting training. Her approval came after five or six days of workshops with Mukesh Chhabra. They then proceeded to Kashmir and began filming there. She would find it challenging to understand the language. They continued to use everyday words, but she was unable to understand their meaning (DOP and POV). "Yeh kya baatein chal rahi hain?" (What are these things being talked about?) she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

She began to question whether she had made the right choice in signing Laila Majnu. She added that conversations between Avinash Tiwary and Sajid in the workshop would also touch on character, complexity, backstory, and grief. Meanwhile, Triptii is sitting there, wondering, "What is the pain?" "Why are you doing this?" How much agony is there? Who are these individuals, and what do they intend? She doesn't understand a thing. Some nights she would go home and sob, wondering if she was in a precarious position. Was there an error on her part? Yes, she did say yes, and she was even chosen. Even though acting is her passion, she was nonetheless nervous.
They needed a competent performer for this film, and Triptii had to channel Laila and cry in a few scenes. Being herself on set was not an option; given her complete ignorance of the acting business, she found it difficult to navigate such situations. Going into the seminars, Triptii assumed acting would be easy, but she was wrong. She revealed that she just thought she had to go on camera and act.
Saurabh Sachdeva, who co-starred with Triptii in Animal, reportedly sent her home because she was late to his workshop. When the first schedule ended, she wasted no time getting to his workshop. Her first day there, she was also tardy. He said, sitting outside, "The workshop was scheduled for this time; you are half an hour late." There was traffic, she informed him. "Go, come tomorrow," was his response. Because self-control is paramount, he forbade Triptii from going. According to her, she waited for a while in the hopes that he would let her in, but he eventually refused.
Triptii had three releases in 2024, including Bad Newz, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
