Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri starrer romantic drama film ‘Laila Majnu’ re-released in theatres on August 9, 2024. Upon its release, the film did not perform well at the box office, however, it became a hit over time and viewers started appreciating the film a lot more for its storyline, its superhit songs, and Triptii and Avinash’s mind-blowing performances in the film.

The narrative of the film revolves around Qais and Laila, two lovers in Kashmir who are unable to reconcile because of the hostility from their families. The film has been directed by Sajid Ali and showcases the picturesque landscapes of Kashmir. Presented by Imtiaz Ali, the film was co-produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, and Preety Ali. Besides Triptii and Avinash, the cast of the film also includes Sahiba Ali, Sumit Kaul, and Sujata Sehgal, among others. 

Upon its release, the film received mixed responses from the audiences but it now has become one of the most talked about films thanks to its unique storytelling, music, and performances. 

Earlier, in an Instagram post, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali shared his excitement about the re-release, stating, “Laila Majnu back on popular demand!!! Gratitude to your love that pulled it into theatres again after six years!! Re-releasing 9th Aug ‘24 in cinemas nationwide (check picture) congratulations team LM.”
