Since a few days, there have been reports that Kareena Kapoor Khan has joined the cast of Yash starrer Toxic. The film, which stars Yash in the lead has been making headlines with speculations of Crew actress joining the cast as actor's love interest. However, it has now been reported that Bebo will be a part of the film but in the role of Yash's sister.

Kareena Kapoor Khan to play Yash's sister in Toxic

The recent reports by Times Now reveal that Kareena is very much part of the project and has a powerful role in the film. If these reports are true, then Toxic will mark Kareena Kapoor Khan's Kannada debut.

A source told the portal: "It is basically a brother-sister story with Yash and Kareena playing inseparable siblings. The director was keen to have Kareena on board in Toxic from the inception of the project. Negotiations were on."

Speaking in details about Kareena's character in the film, the source added, "Everyone presumed Kareena was being brought into the project as Yash’s leading lady when in fact Kareena was offered a far more powerful role. She has never been seen like this before." Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Sai Pallavi or Shruti Haasan could play the lead role, probably Yash's love interest in the film.

If these reports are true, then it will be interesting to watch Yash and Kareena as siblings on the big screens.

When reports about Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sai Pallavi and Shruti Haasan joining the cast of the film started circulating like wildfire, the makers of the film issued a statement. They requested fans to not speculate the casting and wait for the official announcement.

The joint statement from KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations read, "There are many unsubstantiated theories and information doing rounds about the casting of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups. We truly appreciate the excitement around Toxic, but at this point, we would request everyone to refrain from speculation. The casting process for the film is near completion, and we are thrilled with the team we have onboard. As we gear up to bring this story to life, we request everyone to wait for the official announcements."

Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-ups is directed by Geetu Mohandas and is slated to release in theatres on April 10, 2025.
