According to the latest reports, Malayalam's latest film, Nadikar, is all set to make its digital debut soon. The movie, which stars Tovino Thomas in the lead role, will be available to stream on Netflix starting June 27. However, the makers have not made an official confirmation on the same.

Nadikar to stream on Netflix

Although the film's makers have not officially confirmed it, fans of the actor expected Nadikar to be released on all major digital platforms in mid-June. It’s digital debut soon on Netflix is looked forward to by many who missed the movie in theatres.

Although Nadikar's cast was impressive, the film's release did not live up to the high expectations of the audience. With its unimpressive box office performance and conflicting reviews, it is reasonable to believe that these factors played a role in the delay of the OTT release.

Nadikar based on David Padikkal’s life

When his abilities fall short of expectations, superstar David Padikkal is also in the spotlight thanks to his quick ascent to fame. His insecurities and revelry make things worse for him, until someone he knows advises him to take acting classes to improve his chances. The main plot point of the movie is whether David's inflated ego will play spoiler in him mastering the art.

The review on OTTplay lists a number of excellent touches in Nadikar, which opens with a sequence of title card evolution and a brief interview with Prem Nazir, who was undoubtedly the first big star in Malayalam cinema. However, the first half loses its novelty and could have used some better writing. Lal Jr.'s film is shaky at first, but it gets better in the second half thanks to Tovino's performance and a fantastic climax. For someone who enjoys movies about the film industry in general or the lives of actors in particular, this one is definitely worth seeing.
