Minnal Murali has become a highly anticipated movie since its announcement. Directed by Basil Joseph, the movie is touted to be a superhero flick. The latest news is that Minnal Murali will premiere on Netflix.

The word going around is that the superhero entertainer which is made on a big budget has been grabbed for a huge streaming price by the streaming giants. Reports also say that Minnal Murali will be released in September through the streaming platform. There has been no official confirmation from the makers yet.

Minnal Murali will see the up and coming director Basil team up with Tovino Thomas once again. The two of them previously worked on Godha, a comedy sports film that came out in 2017 also starring Wamiqa Gabbi and Renji Panicker.

Produced by Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters, Minnal Murali also features Aju Varghese, Harisree Ashokan, Guru Somasundaram and Bijukuttan among others. The music for the movie is composed by Shaan Rahman, a regular for Basil’s movies. This is their third collaboration.

Basil, who started out making short films, is known for his lighthearted comedy and storytelling. Minnal Murali will only be his third directorial, but the expectations on the director are high.

The filming of Minnal Murali hit several hurdles from the coronavirus lockdown stopping the production to a controversial vandalism incident where church replicas erected for the shoot of the movie were destroyed. The news of a release for the much-awaited movie will come as a highly positive one for the fans.

Tovino was last seen in the gritty action Kala directed by Rohith V. The busy actor has a long list of movies already announced including Kurippu starring Dulquer Salman, Kaanekkaane and Vazhakku
