Nadikar release date: Tovino Thomas' big budget entertainer to hit theatres on THIS date

Another poster for Nadikar has been released by the film's makers, featuring Tovino Thomas and Soubin Shahir's characters. Lal Jr is the director of this film, which is one of Tovino Thomas's most eagerly awaited releases of the year. With Tovino at the centre, the first poster of Nadikar, which looks like a banknote, includes glimpses of each character in the movie. It has also been revealed that the film will hit the big screen on May 3. 

The film's title has been changed to Nadikar by the producers in response to a controversy. One of the fan clubs honouring Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganeshan, Nadigarthilagam Sivaji Samooganala Peravai, had asked the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) to give another name to the film.

At a recent event in Kochi, actor Prabhu—son of Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganeshan—released the first look poster for Nadikar. He clarified that many of the devoted followers of the late Sivaji Ganeshan had asked him to ask the makers of the Tovino-starrer to rename the film. "I asked Lal Sir if the film's title could be changed by his son, director Jean Lal. They agreed, and my family and I are grateful for the understanding,” Prabhu said at the event.

On social media, many of the actor's fans praised Tovino for choosing to play a variety of characters, while others expressed their excitement for the movie.

According to sources, Tovino plays superstar David Padikkal, who has been going through several complications in his career and his attempts to get through them.

The ensemble cast of Nadikar includes Soubin Shahir, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Suresh Krishna, Manikuttan, Shine Tom Chacko, Veena Nandakumar, Anoop Menon, Balu Varghese, Lal, and Madhupal. The female leads are being portrayed by Bhavana and Divya Pillai. Thirty locations were used for the filming, including Hyderabad, Kochi, Dubai, and Munnar.

The film's producers had recently announced that Nadikar's filming was complete and that a theatrical release date would be revealed shortly. The film is being produced with a budget of around Rs 40 crore after filming in various locations for 120 days.

Suvin S Somasekharan has penned the screenplay for Nadikar. The soundtracks for the film have been composed by Yakzan Gary Pereira. Y Naveen and Y Ravi Shankar’s Mythri Movie Makers and Allan Antony and Anoop Venugopal’s GodSpeed are bankrolling the film.

Actors’ quirky looks in Nadikar

The actors' looks for Nadikar were shared on social media, and the producers revealed that Soubin Shahir will play Bala and Balu Varghese will appear as Lenin. Online users were thrilled with the eccentric ensembles the performers wore, drawing comparisons between Tovino's look and Henry Cavill's from The Witcher.

Tovino’s upcoming projects

The actor will have a busy 2024 with a few films coming out this year, including Identity and Ajayante Randam Moshanam. His upcoming investigative thriller, Anweshippin Kandethum, will hit the big screen on February 9.
