Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph introduce the world of superhero Minnal Murali in new video

Tovino Thomas is turning into a superhero for the upcoming Netflix original Malayalam film Minnal Murali. The actor along with the director Basil Joseph recently took fans on a journey into the world of this superhero flick. The actor talked about how a comic book idea turned into a big story and now finally releasing it on Netflix. While Basil revealed that he came up with the concept in 2018.

The filmmaker also revealed that there are a lot of challenges in making a superhero film, especially in Malayalam. While Tovino added that as an actor, Minnal Murali is the biggest film of his career. 

The teaser video also features the bulked-up physique of the handsome actor but he gives it a quirky touch with his innocence and charm. It also gives a glimpse into the premise of the film which is set against the backdrop of a small town in Kerala.

The film is unexpected, action packed and one-of-a-kind superhero story, about a tailor from a small town who wakes up with superpowers after getting hit by a bolt of lightning. 

Minnal Murali is set to stream on Netflix from December 24, 2021, during the Christmas weekend in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu (Merupu Murali), Hindi (Mister Murali), Kannada (Minchu Murali) and English languages.

Earlier during an interaction in Dubai, Tovino revealed that the film will be much-loved by the masses. He stated, "It's a dream project for all of us and now it's up to the audience to decide its fate."

This is Tovino's debut on the streaming platform and reunites with Basil after the 2017 hit release Godha. Minnal Murali also features Aju Varghese, Harisree Ashokan, Guru Somasundaram and others in supporting roles. While Femina George makes her debut with this film.

Meanwhile, Tovino is currently riding high on the success of his recent outing Kaanekkaane which dropped on SonyLIV a few days back.

However, the actor made his OTT debut with Kala which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
