Tovino Thomas and Asif Ali, the popular Malayalam actors had a box office clash, recently with the releases of Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Kishkindha Kaandam. The Jithin Laal directorial and Dinjith Ayyathan’s film were released on September 12, 2024, as the Onam special releases of the year. Both films earned immense love from the audience and emerged as blockbusters. Reportedly, Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas are set to have yet another box-office clash, very soon.
Tovino Thomas vs Asif Ali to clash at the box office again?
For the uninitiated, both Tovino Thomas and Asif Ali emerged as winners at the box office during the Onam season. While Ajayante Randam Moshanam emerged as the instant blockbuster, Kishkindha Kaandam had a slow start at the box office and soon earned blockbuster status. After the massive success of their films, the talented actors are reportedly set to clash at the box office yet again, during the upcoming Christmas season.
If the recent updates are to be believed, Tovino Thomas’ upcoming crime thriller Identity, and Asif Ali’s cop drama Rekhachithram, are set to have a clash at the box office in December 2024. Both the Akhil Paul-Anas Khan film and the Jofin T Chacko directorial are reportedly slated to hit the big screens by the third week of December, as the Christmas special releases of the year. However, the makers of both films have yet to officially announce the release date.
Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Kishkindha Kaandam at the box office
The Tovino Thomas starrer has been delivering an excellent performance at the box office, especially in Kerala and Overseas. As per the recent updates Ajayante Randam Moshanam has collected over Rs 50 crore from Kerala alone, when it completed its third week of its release. The total worldwide collection of the Jithin Laal directorial has now crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark.
The Asif Ali starrer, on the other hand, had a slow beginning at the box office. However, the excellent reviews and word-of-mouth publicity have helped Kishkindha Kaandam emerge as one of the most profitable projects ever produced by the Malayalam film industry. The movie, which stars Vijayaraghavan and Aparna Balamurali in the other key roles, is now nearing the Rs. 70 crore mark at the box office.
