Tovino Thomas’ Ajayante Randam Moshanam to get spin-offs? Director Jithin Laal drops major updates

Tovino Thomas joined hands with newcomer Jithin Laal, for his recent outing Ajayante Randam Moshanam. The period fantasy film, which features the talented actor in a triple role, has been performing extremely well at the box office and emerged as the highest-grossing film in his career. Meanwhile, in a recent interview with a leading Malayalam media, director Jithin Laal revealed that the team is now planning to make spin-offs for Ajayante Randam Moshanam, and expand the universe.

Ajayante Randam Moshanam to get spin-offs soon?

In his recent interview with The Cue Studio, director Jithin Laal extensively spoke about expanding the ARM universe with more spin-offs. Interestingly, the young filmmaker is keen to turn the Tovino Thomas starrer film into a franchise, by adding more installments. According to director Jithin, he and writer Sujith Nambiar have already developed a series of stories, that could eventually become the spin-offs to Ajayante Randam Moshanam. Interestingly, the writer-director duo has conceptualized a series of nine films that belong to the same universe.

The ARM director confirmed that the team has no plans to repeat the genre of films, even though all major characters from the Tovino Thomas starrer have the possibility to reappear in those films. Jithin Laal’s next immediate release might also be a part of this universe. The director further added that their idea is to develop a movie franchise rooted in the culture of Kerala and cater majorly to regional audiences.

As per the latest updates, Ajayante Randam Moshanam is now on its way to enter the Rs. 80 crore club of Malayalam cinema, as it completes the third weekend of its release. The Jithin Laal directorial, made with a budget of less than Rs 30 crore, has emerged as the Onam winner of 2024. Along with Tovino Thomas, the movie features a stellar star cast including Krithi Shetty, Surabhi Lakshmi, Harish Uthaman, Basil Joseph, Aishwarya Rajesh, Jagadeesh, Rohini, and others in supporting roles. Jomon T John is the DOP of ARM. Dhibu Ninan composed the music score.
