Tota Roychoudhury and Swastika Mukherjee in Ayan Chakraborty’s new thriller

Tota Roychowdhury and Swastika Mukherjee will be seen in Ayan Chakraborty’s upcoming thriller, Nikhonj. Tota plays the protagonist – the most important face of a news channel, and Swastika Mukherjee plays the police officer. He recently released his look.

The story delves into a missing diary. A female employee suddenly goes missing from her office. That creates a buzz. Actor Tota Roychoudhury is among the suspects. This did not happen in reality. Talking about the series, Tota said, “I never played such a character before. Ayan’s (Chakraborty) film is a thriller. I liked his previous film Shororipu. He asked me to work previously, but I could not. Now I am all set to work in Nikhoj. My character’s name is Romit Sen. He was with the girl before she went missing. And hence he became the suspect. He has to go through social and political pressure. Whether he is the culprit or he is framed will be revealed later.”

Paran Bandyopadhyay plays a forensic expert. Konineeca Banerjee plays the role of Tota's wife. About working with Swastika, Tota said, “I am happy to work with her. We always learn from each other. Hopefully, this will happen now also.' Tota and Swastika previously worked in the film 90 Ghonta, directed by Sougata Roy Barman and released in 2008.

The shooting will take place in Kolkata around mid-April. The series is to be released on Hoichoi.
