The Maha Kumbh Mela is a holy Hindu pilgrimage festival held every 12 years in Prayagraj, India. It is the world's largest religious gathering. Millions of pilgrims bathe in the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers and explore spirituality and tradition. Not only the general public but several celebrities go to Maha Kumbh and take a dip to channel their inner peace and spirituality. Remo D'Souza, known for his energetic choreography in Bollywood, was spotted at Maha Kumbh 2025. He was seen meditating and also taking a dip in the river.
Shankar Mahadevan, the popular singer and songwriter, took part in the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. This was his first visit to the event. After his visit, the Grammy-winning singer expressed his happiness and gratitude, considering it a significant milestone in his musical journey. He also performed the anthem 'Chalo Kumbh Chalein' and other bhajans.
Mamta Kulkarni, a former Bollywood actress, took sanyas at the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. She became the Mahamandleshwar of the Kinnar Akhara, a title that is highly esteemed in Hinduism. She said that she felt that material achievements didn't fulfill her and wanted to experience the bliss of a deeper spiritual path.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher also attended the festival. He shared his experience on Instagram. “Life became successful by taking a bath in Ganga in Mahakumbh!! Reached the place where Mother Ganga, Jamuna, and Saraswati meet for the first time.”
The Kerala Story actress Adah Sharma who visited the holy festival, talked about her experience. "There were so many people... maybe lakhs. My connection to Lord Shiva, is something that cannot be expressed in words. Words, adjectives and sentences describing certain feelings don't do justice. But if I had to describe my connection with Lord Shiva it is an intuitive one, unplanned, unmotivated, without any agenda," she said.
Popular singer Guru Randhawa shared a clip as he took a dip at Sangam in Prayagraj. Sharing a video on his Instagram, he wrote, “Blessed to take a sacred dip in Maa Ganga at Prayagraj, where faith flows and spirituality thrives. Starting my new journey with God’s blessing. Har har Gange!” The clip showed him taking a dip in the river early in the morning, attending the famous aarti in the evening, and much more.
The OG Dream Girl Hema Malini took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on Mauni Amavasya and expressed her gratitude. She stated, “I am feeling great. I have never had such an experience before. Today is a very special day, and I am fortunate to take the holy dip".
Apart from them, Rajpal Yadav, Sunil Grover, Kabir Khan, and others have visited Maha Kumbh 2025.
