Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield talk about ‘being in service’ to Tom Holland’s journey in Spider-Man: No Way Home

Witnessing Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland together in Spider-Man: No Way Home was a moment of surprise for the audience.

In a recent chat, Maguire and Garfield opened up about the ‘emotional’ journey of being in the film.

“It was not like they were just asking us to come and say hi and then leave again but actually have our presence being in service to Tom in his journey”, Garfield said, as quoted by Deadline. The duo called the storyline ‘beautiful’ and the togetherness of three spideys as nothing less than a ‘brotherhood’.

Maguire was the first to introduce the spidey suit to the world. On being a part of No Way Home, the actor said that the makers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige intended the creative process to celebrate love genuinely. He said that he wanted to be a part of the celebration when he rejoined the franchise. Maguire added that he is a big fan of all the Spider-Man films and of Holland and Garfield as well.

Meanwhile, Garfield revealed that his decision to return as Spider-Man depended a lot on Maguire. He added that he would follow the actor anywhere on Earth and called himself a ‘lemming’ for doing that. He also said that their cameos were ‘so special’ and he felt great about the creative idea and creative plot.

Holland had previously described the trio’s bond as a ‘brotherhood’ in many interactions. He also said that the collaboration was a great emotional experience for him.

No Way Home was released in Indian cinemas on December 16, 2021. The film also stars Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon and Marisa Tomei.
