The musical film helmed by Paul King is a prequel to Roald Dahl's 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

After seeing Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie series, fans couldn't stop imagining Timothée Chalamet in and as Wonka. Finally, the actor teased his first look on social media pages and it's worth the wait. Chalamet posted a photo of himself in a huge brown hat, silk scarves around his neck and a messy red velvet jacket. The actor is standing amid the snow while giving his shot.
In the second photo, Chalamet shows the iconic stick of Wonka with a purple gift wrapped on top of it. The actor captioned the post stating, "The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last... WONKA."
Interestingly, the caption is a dialogue by Gene Wilder from the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
Wonka is directed by Paul King which he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby. The film is a prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory book which was released in 1964 and penned by Roald Dahl.
Along with Chalamet, the forthcoming film also features Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman and Jim Carter in supporting roles.
Wonka will show his earlier days as an eccentric chocolatier before opening the world's most famous chocolate factory.
Reports have stated that Chalamet will be singing and dancing in the film for which he has been undertaking extensive training.
Wonka is slated to hit the theatres on March 17, 2023, and the film is being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Currently, Chalamet is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Dune which is a sci-fi directed by Denis Villeneuve. The film features an ensemble cast including Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem.
Dune is slated to release on October 22, 2021.
