Ravi Teja, last seen in the April release Ravanasura, scored two consecutive hits with Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya not so long ago. He’s gearing up for the release of his first pan-Indian film - Tiger Nageswara Rao - later this year. Vamsee, who earlier helmed Lakshmi Manchu’s Dongata, is the writer-director of the fictionalised biopic of the notorious thief from the Stuartpuram region in Andhra Pradesh.
Abhishek Agarwal of Abhishek Agarwal Arts, who’s backed films like The Kashmir Files, Karthikeya 2 and the upcoming release - The Vaccine War - is bankrolling the huge project that’s being made on a wide canvas. Two leading ladies are set to make their Telugu debut with the film - Nupur Sanon (sister of Kriti Sanon) and Gayatri Bhardwaj. Earlier this year, the makers announced that the film will release worldwide across five languages on October 20.
Ahead of its release, the team has left no stone unturned to kickstart its promotions in style. Five superstars across as many languages - Venkatesh (Telugu), Shiva Rajkumar (Kannada), John Abraham (Hindi), Karthi (Tamil) and Dulquer Salmaan (Malayalam) - came together to unveil the first look of the multilingual today. A special event was organised at Rajahmundry today commemorating the launch.
The first-look poster and a unique concept video were released on the iconic Havelock Bridge (Godavari) in Rajahmundry. The team even hired a train for the event. In the look, Ravi Teja looks ferocious and tense in a rugged avatar, where he also sports a thick beard. He’s spotted behind bars in the video that introduces audiences to the world of Tiger Nageswara Rao. The added attraction is the voiceovers of the five (aforementioned) stars.
The video suggests that the tale unfolds in the 70s in a small village in the vicinity of the Bay of Bengal, Stuartpuram that’s feared by darkness; trains tremble upon their arrival at the station. In a nutshell, it’s showcased as crime capital of South India which has another name Tiger Zone i.e. The Zone of Tiger Nageswara Rao. Ravi Teja asks if you’ve seen a tiger hunt a tiger? Anupam Kher, Renu Desai essay other important roles in the same. GV Prakash scores the music.
