Tiger 3, which had its festive release on Sunday, which is Diwali Day (November 12, 2023), has created a set of records at the box office. The film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles has minted about Rs. 44.50 crore, which includes Rs. 43 crore in the original Hindi version and Rs. 1.50 crore in the dubbed version. The Maneesh Sharma-directed film is produced by Yash Raj Films and is the third instalment in the hit Tiger franchise.
Exceptional opening day performance
As per Box Office India, for a day like Diwali, when ticket sales often drop off in the evening, Tiger 3's opening day haul of Rs. 42.25 crore nett is insane. Because the national festival spans two days, audiences can expect the film to act differently than those who saw it on the previous Diwali. It remains to be seen which circuits have their finest day on Monday and which circuits are best on Tuesday. With the majority of its revenue coming from Telugu, the film also made about Rs. 1.50 crore nett in Tamil.
In the meantime, Tiger 3 has broken a number of records, including the fact that this Diwali was the most successful in Hindi film history and that it outperformed all of Salman Khan's prior openings. The fact that it broke the Diwali Day record by a factor of three highlights the film's incredible success. It also set a record for the biggest opening of the Tiger franchise.
Record-breaking Diwali for Hindi cinema
Tiger 3's Day 2 is a national holiday and is expected to be one of the largest days of the year at the box office, especially after its massive success on Diwali Pooja Day.
Tiger 3 also stars Emraan Hashmi as the main antagonist, and the film has been released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on the big screen.
