Thunivu: The power-packed trailer of Ajith's heist thriller clocks 20 million views in hours!

The trailer of Ajith's heist thriller Thunivu was released as a New Year special on December 31 evening. The trailer, which is one minute and 51 seconds long, gives a glimpse of Ajith's character in the action entertainer. Ajith plays a bank robber, who has the bank staff under gunpoint and is all set to swindle the money. He also mouths some heavy-duty punch dialogues like 'he is a sly personality and that one shouldn't mess with him' and 'Don't act like a hero, that's my job'.

Going by the scenes, the makers are seen playing to the gallery. The film's leading lady, Manju Warrier is also wielding a gun and firing away. The trailer has gone on to become one of the most viewed videos in the recent past, clocking 20 million views in a span of hours.

Taking to his social media handle, the film's producer Boney Kapoor wrote, "20 MILLION+ real-time views and  trending #1 on YouTube! #ThunivuTrailer raking up the numbers at lightning speed (sic)."

The film is directed by H Vinoth and the star cast includes Ajith, Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, GM Sundar, Mahanadhi Shankar, John Kokken, Veera, Ajay, Bhagavathi Perumal to name a few. Music for the film is by Ghibran and three songs from the album, Chilla Chilla, Kasethan Kadavulada and Gangstaa have already gone on to become massive hits. Cinematography is by Nirav Shah and editing is by Vijay Velukutty. The film will be distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies and is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor.

Thunivu is all set to hit screens on January 12 and will take on Vijay's Varisu, which is billed as a family entertainer. The film marks Vijay's maiden collaboration with Vamshi Paidipally and Rashmika Mandanna. It would be interesting to see both the stars battle it out at the box office.
