Thug Life, the highly anticipated project that marks the second collaboration of legendary actor Kamal Haasan and veteran director Kamal Haasan, started rolling in Chennai, last month. After wrapping up the Chennai schedule, the team kickstarted the Serbia schedule of the much-awaited film, a few days back. However, the recent updates suggest that the second schedule of the film has been cancelled abruptly. Reportedly, director Mani Ratnam and his team have now returned to Chennai.
If the latest reports are to be believed, the Serbia schedule of Thug Life has been cancelled abruptly, after leading man Kamal Haasan confirmed that he might not be able to join the team for the schedule. The sources close to the project suggest that the National Award-winning actor failed to join the schedule due to the unexpected changes in his political commitments.
However, director Mani Ratnam and his team have shot a few portions featuring the film’s other cast members in Serbia. The grapevine suggests that the cast and crew will resume the shooting very soon with another Tamil Nadu schedule. The Serbia schedule, on the other hand, is expected to be resumed after Kamal Haasan wraps up all his political commitments. This might also cause a delay in the upcoming shooting schedules of Thug Life.
Even though the legendary actor was planning to take a break from politics for his upcoming projects, the plans did not materialize as the elections are set to begin soon. Though he is not contesting in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, Kamal Haasan is now planning to dedicate time to the massive political campaign of his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam.
