Thug Life, the action thriller that has Kamal Haasan in the lead role, is one of the most anticipated films in Tamil cinema. The shooting of the project, which is helmed by Mani Ratnam, began in Chennai a few weeks ago. Thug Life was announced with a massive star cast, which included popular stars Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi. However, Dulquer opted out of the project due to his busy schedule. As per the reports, Ravi has also now exited the Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam project.
If the recent reports are to be believed, Jayam Ravi has also opted out of the Mani Ratnam directorial after Dulquer Salmaan. The popular actor, who played Arulmozhi Varman, aka Rajaraja Cholan, in the veteran director’s previous outing, the Ponniyin Selvan franchise, was supposed to play a pivotal role in the Kamal Haasan starrer. It was also reported that Ravi is a part of the Serbian schedule, which was supposed to take place in March 2024.
However, the Serbian schedule of Thug Life has now been delayed indefinitely due to leading man Kamal Haasan’s busy schedule. For the uninitiated, the legendary actor was unable to join the Serbian schedule, which began on the first week of March, due to his political commitments. This has reportedly led to the exit of Jayam Ravi from the project. The talented actor is unable to allot more dates for the new schedule of the project due to his busy schedule.

As reported earlier, Dulquer Salmaan, who was supposed to play a key role in Thug Life, decided to exit the project as he is busy with the filming of some other movies that he has previously committed to. It is interesting to note that Dulquer's role was originally written for Silambarasan and went to Dulquer after the Maanaadu actor, who is preparing for STR48, was unable to take up the offer. Now, rumour mills suggest that Simbu might, after all, come on board the project after the Sita Ramam actor’s exit.
