Thudarum’s Tharun Moorthy dismisses ‘promo song poster’, Mohanlal too chips in with a catchy caption

After all the hype and the subsequent outcry over Empuraan, Malayalam cinephiles are looking forward to watching Mohanlal in Tharun Moorthy's Thudarum. The hype surrounding the film is getting bigger by the day, but it looks like it has also led to fake reports on social media. The film was trending on social media on Tuesday with a now-viral poster of Mohanlal, claiming that a promo song from Thudarum would be out soon. But Thudarum director Tharun Moorthy has dismissed it, and Mohanlal too has chipped in by dropping a new poster with a catchy caption. The upcoming Malayalam film, which also stars Shobana, is slated to hit theatres on April 25, 2025.

Tharun Moorthy on Thudarum ‘promo song poster’

Fans enthusiastically shared a poster of Mohanlal, claiming that a promo song featuring the lead star would be out soon. Now, Thudarum director Tharun Moorthy has taken to Instagram to set the record straight. The noted filmmaker, who has previously helmed Operation Java and Saudi Vellakka, shared the poster on his Instagram stories and said ‘Idea is good, but not our mood’.

Shortly after, Thudarum lead star Mohanlal dropped a new poster from the film, that featured him along with Shobana. Though the Lucifer star did not directly address the promo song poster, he cheekily wrote in the caption - “Posters may come and go… but here’s one you can actually trust”.

Fans have particularly liked the caption and dropping heart emojis in the comment section.

Tharun Moorthy has also shared the new poster of Thudarum, which has Mohanlal gesturing 'entuvadai' (what is all this) to an amused Shobana.

Thudarum cast

Thudarum revolves around taxi driver Shanmugham, who has a strong attachment to his car. Shobana plays his wife Lalitha, and glimpses shared thus far shows the amazing chemistry between them. Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu,and , Thomas Mathew are also part of the film.

Apart from Thudarum, Mohanlal will star in Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridayapoorvam which also features Malavika Mohanan. Mohanlal is also a part of Mahesh Narayanan film with Mammootty.
