Thudarum release postponed; Mohanlal, Tharun Moorthy’s film out of January 2025 race?

Mohanlal is joining hands with National Award-winning filmmaker Tharun Moorthy, for his upcoming project Thudarum. The movie, touted to be a family drama, was originally expected to hit the theatres on January 30, 2025. However, the lack of updates from the team have left the Malayalam cinephiles, curious. Now, the rumour mills suggest that the release of Thudarum has been postponed, due to technical reasons. The Mohanlal starrer is reportedly out from the January 2025 race.

The Mohanlal starrer is reportedly out of the January 2025 race, as the post-production works of the film are not finished yet. Reportedly, this is the reason why director Tharun Moorthy and his team have not revealed any major updates on the film, including the long-awaited Thudarum teaser. The film is highly unlikely to get released on January 30, 2025 as planned. Instead, Thudarum might get pushed to February 2025, and an official announcement on the same is expected to be out soon.

Thudarum teaser release date

If things go as planned, Mohanlal, director Tharun Moorthy, and team might reveal the Thudarum teaser on January 25, 2025. The highly anticipated first glimpse of the film is expected to be revealed at the grand silver jubilee celebration event of production banner Aashirvad Cinemas, which distributes the film in India. However, the makers have not confirmed these reports officially, yet. The new release date of the Mohanlal starrer is expected to be revealed on the same day.

Thudarum features Mohanlal in the role of a Shamugham, a small-town based taxi driver. Shobana is playing the female lead in the Tharun Moorthy directorial, which is touted to be a family drama set in the backdrop of Ranni village in Kerala. Maniyanpilla Raju, Farhaan Faasil, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Binu Pappu, and others appear in the supporting roles. Jakes Bejoy is composing the songs and original score. Shaji Kumar handles the cinematography. Thudarum is bankrolled by M Renjith, under the popular banner Rejaputhra Films.
