Throwback to the time when Neetu Kapoor commented on Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s relationship: He was probably not himself

Neetu Kapoor, a veteran actress, recently made headlines when she wrote a cryptic statement that led people to believe she was making fun of her son Ranbir Kapoor's ex-girlfriends. She had written, “Just because he dated you for 7 years, it doesn’t mean he will marry you. My uncle studied medicine for 6 years, now he is a DJ.” The message sparked a lot of discussion on social media and quickly went viral. In the middle of this, a previously unreleased internet interview with Neetu about Ranbir's previous relationship with Deepika Padukone has surfaced.

The Jugjugg Jeeyo actress discussed RK's relationship with Deepika during her appearance on Simi Garewal's chat show India's Most Desirable, saying she believes he was "probably not himself" at the time.

In the clip, Neetu could be heard saying, “I don’t think he’s had many girlfriends. He’s had just one girlfriend and that’s Deepika. I think maybe there was something missing in their relationship. There was something not there.” 

She added, “Maybe he was not himself and he needed to break off. Everybody has relationships and they move on. If their relationship was perfect, they wouldn’t have broken up. Ranbir was probably not himself in the relationship.”

For those who are unaware, Ranbir and Deepika apparently fell in love while filming their movie "Bachna Ae Haseeno," and by the time the film was finished, they were reportedly in a serious relationship. During their courtship, Deepika even got a tattoo of Ranbir's initials. Nevertheless, after dating for two years, they called it quits in 2009.

Both Deepika and Ranbir have now moved on and married different partners. Although Deepika is happily married to actor Ranveer Singh, RK is happily married to Alia Bhatt and is the proud father of daughter Raha.
