That Aamir Khan is an actor par excellence is something that we all know, and everyone abides by. There must be hardly anyone who hasn’t been swept away by the deadly combination of cuteness and acting prowess of the superstar Aamir Khan. Besides being a tower house of talent, it is also a known fact that Aamir Khan is the ‘baap’ of marketing strategies and film promotions. Testimony to the same stand in the form of the cult ‘Ghajini’ cut which was seen sporting by the ushers in many cinema halls, in order to promote Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’, the very film where the hero was sporting the ‘Ghajini cut’.

Aamir Khan has been the proverbial Godfather of publicity tactics and marketing strategies ever since the word go. When we say, ‘ever since the word go’, we mean ever since his debut film as a leading man, which was the smash hit film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. The film, which proved to be an overnight success, launched the Bollywood careers of Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla. But, behind the success lies buckets and buckets of hard work in the form of sweat and grime. Well... we will tell you what we mean. As a part of the film publicity of the film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, the film’s ‘leading man’ was out on the streets and was talking to the autorickshaw owners for allowing him and his friend (Raj Zutshi) to paste the film’s stickers in their vehicles’ backside.

By his own admission in one of his earlier interviews, Aamir Khan had been quoted (by Indian Express) saying that, “I was quite scared about the film and whether it would work. Whenever I would meet someone, I would tell them to please watch the film. I would stick the film posters on autos with my other co-stars, and stop taxis, to tell them. Some would say no, we don’t want you to stick this and would ask who was in the film. I would say, ‘Aamir Khan.’ They would say, ‘Kaun Aamir Khan?’ I said, ‘I’m Aamir Khan.’ We tried very hard for people to get to know about the film.”

On the professional front, Aamir Khan, whose last release was ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, is yet to make an announcement about his next venture. There have been strong buzz about his next film being the remake of the Spanish hit ‘Campeon’. While it was being said that Aamir Khan will be acting in the film alongwith producing it, the latest update is that ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ will only be producing the film. The rest of the details of the film is being awaited.
