Sonakshi Sinha recently took to social media to slam veteran actor Mukesh Khanna for criticizing her for not answering a question from Ramayana on Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati 11, in 2019. When Amit Ji asked Sona a question about whom Lord Hanuman brought the 'sanjeevani booti' for, the actress took a lifeline.
However, this did not go well with Mukesh Khanna and he commented on the goof-up. Before Sonakshi, even Shatrughan Sinha once slammed the Shaktimaan actor for constantly commenting on this. Speaking with Bollywood Hungama, Shatrughan earlier said, “I believe someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?"
The veteran actor further added that he is very proud of all his three children. He also mentioned that Sonakshi became a star on her own and he never launched her career. "She is a daughter any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone," Shatrughan added.
For the uninitiated, Shatrughan has named his sons after the twins in the Ramayan — Luv and Kush and has also named his house, Ramayan.
When, in a recent interview, Mukesh Khanna blamed Sonakshi's father Shatrughan Sinha for not imparting cultural knowledge to their children, the Heeramandi actress shared her thoughts on her Instagram story. She wrote: “I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back. Firstly, let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious."
