Veteran art director Thotta Tharani is all set to handle the art direction of producer KT Kunjumon's upcoming offering, Gentleman 2. The producer made the announcement of the same on his social media page and wrote that he was glad to welcome Thotta Tharani and his daughter Rohini Tharani on board. He shared pictures with the father-daughter duo and wrote, "Proud to announce legend #ThottaTharani and his daughter #RohiniTharani will be project deisgner of #GentlemanFilmInternational's MegaProject #Gentleman2 directed by @agoks @film_gentleman @mmkeeravaan @ajayanvincent @ajay_64403 @johnsoncinepro @UrsVamsiShekar @PRO_SVenkatesh (sic)."
It was not long ago that KT Kunjumon had shared a picture with ace cinematographer Ajayan Vincent stating that he would be cranking the camera for the film. Gentleman 2, as the title suggests, is the sequel to Gentleman (1993), which marked the debut of director Shankar in Tamil cinema. The sequel will be helmed by A Gokul Krishna of Aaha Kalyanam fame. He had earlier assisted director Vishnuvardhan in films like Sarvam and Billa. Nayanthara Chakravarthy and Priya lal will be leading ladies of the film, which will have music by ace composer Keeravani.
KT Kunjumon's Gentleman, which starred Arjun and Madhu in the lead, was a heist action thriller, which revolves around an entrepreneur, who moonlights as thief. The supporting cast included Goundamani, Subhasri, MN Nambiar, Manorama, Senthil, Vineeth, Charan Raj and Rajan P Dev. Music for the film was by AR Rahman and the songs became chartbusters. Cinematography was by Jeeva and editing was handled by Lenin. The film went on to become a huge hit. The film was remade in Hindi as The Gentleman, which had Chiranjeevi and Juhi Chawla in the lead, and was helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. However, the Hindi version tanked at the box office and it became Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi's last film in Hindi.
