This streaming giant becomes the first OTT platform to offer a distinct headphone experience in Dolby Atmos

Disney+ Hotstar and Dolby Laboratories are all set to enhance the reach of the Dolby Atmos experience for its users on the platform. While the streaming giant had earlier offered Dolby Vision support, it has gone a step ahead to include Dolby Atmos playback for various devices including TVs, AVRs, soundbars, Android smartphones and iOS devices.

The facility will now help streaming enthusiasts experience Dolby Atmos through headphones via the Disney+ Hotstar app on smartphones. The media statement by the platform states, “The multidimensional, spatial sound experience of Dolby Atmos, Disney+ Hotstar puts its users in the middle of the action with stories coming alive all around them.”

Sidd Mantri, Head of Product - Developing Markets, Disney Streaming expressed his happiness to add Dolby Atmos spatial audio to amplify the entertainment experience on the platform. He said the differentiated headphone experience to Dolby Atmos-enabled devices would be superlative.
