The title of Arya's rural flick with director Muthaiaya has been finally revealed. The film has been titled Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam and the first-look poster shows Arya in a rustic rugged avatar. The actor is seen wearing a black shirt and veshti and sports a mean avatar. Interestingly, in his background is the image of Superstar Rajinikanth from one of his biggest hits, Basha. It seems like the title was partially borrowed from Rajinikanth's character in the film. Rajinikanth also uses two names in Suresh Krissna's super hit- Manickam, the auto driver and Basha, the gangster.
It was only recently that Arya hinted about the film's title having two names. He had shared on his social media handle and had tagged a number of celebrities from the industry asking for their 'other name'. He had written, "Arya Endra Jamshad #EnakkuInnoruPeyairIrukku Unga innoru peyair enna boss? @VishalKOfficial @Karthi_Offl @ActorMadhavan @JiivaOfficial @iamsanthanam @TheVishnuVishal @KalaiActor @vp_offl @beemji @arunvijayno1 @gvprakash @actorshiva @iYogiBabu @bharathhere @shaamactor (sic)."
Releasing the title of the film on his social media handle, director Gautham Menon wrote, "Happy to Unveil the impressive first look poster of #KatherBashaEndraMuthuramalingam. Best wishes to the entire team #KEMthemovie @arya_offl @dir_muthaiya @SiddhiIdnani @gvprakash @VelrajR @zeestudiossouth @DrumsticksProd @venkatraj11989 @veeramani_art @ActionAnlarasu (sic)."
The film will have Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu actress Siddhi Idnani playing the leading lady. Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam marks her second film in Tamil and her maiden collaboration with Arya.
Arya was last seen in the fantasy film Captain, in which he played an Army Officer. The film, directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, had Simran and Aishwarya Lekshmi as the leading ladies and had Arya taking on some special creatures. The plot was said to be inspired by John McTiernan's Predator. The film opened to negative reviews and was a dampener at the box office.
