Around 20 years ago, Bollywood filmmaker Rakesh Roshan gave India its first ever homegrown superhero film in the form of ‘Koi …Mil Gaya’. After the roaring success of his debut film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’, many thought that Hrithik Roshan can excel only in modern-day roles. But the success of ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’ only reinstated the fact that, a superstar is born in the form of Hrithik Roshan.

This week, the film will be celebrating 20 years of its release. As a mark of gratitude towards the film and its astounding success at the box office, the film ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’ will now be re-released by PVR Inox in theatres across 30 cities. Hrithik Roshan took to social media and posted a video message on this happy occasion.

Taking to his social media on Thursday, the actor said in a video, “Hi guys. Koi… Mil Gaya is re-releasing in theatres on August 4. I am very excited for the film. 20 years… this film that… I gave so much of myself to, is releasing again in theatres. Oh wow! Sounds absolutely crazy to me. Didn’t even know that was possible, but I knew it was possible. But, now that it is happening, it feels like a release of a new film. This is going to be a lot of fun. I hope u enjoy it still. In my opinion, it has aged pretty well. whenever I think of this film, I still feel that I could have done much better. Still, it’s a very dear film to me. Please go with your family and friends to enjoy Jaadu, Rohit, Preeti and others. I think it will be great. Have fun. And let me know how it feels to watch it 20 years later, if you had watched it 20 years back. Does it still have the magic? Love you, Bye, bye!”

Besides Hrithik Roshan, the film also starred Preity Zinta, Rekha, Johnny Lever, Rajat Bedi, Prem Chopra, Hansika Motwani, Anuj Pandit Sharma and others.
