Will Smith's journey to becoming one of Hollywood's most bankable stars began on the small screen, with a sitcom titled 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air'. Of course, the show needs no introduction considering it has acquired cult status through the years and was also a superhit during its debut on television.

What is 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' about?

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air first aired in 1990 and ran for six successful seasons until 1996. Created by Andy and Susan Horowitz, the show follows a semi-fictional version of Will Smith, whose eponymous character is a street-smart kid from West Philadelphia. When a skirmish with a group of gang members causes his alarmed mother to send him to live with his wealthy uncle Phil and aunt Vivian in the plush neighbourhood of Los Angeles' Bel-Air, William must come to terms with the opulent lifestyle of his new family.

His "working class" outlook towards life clashes with upper-class ways of living of his uncle, aunt and their three children resulting in hilarious situations.

The cast of 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' also includes James Avery, Janet Hupert, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Alfonoso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons and others with credited as the show creators. The show is currently streaming on Netflix India.

But all the 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' fans have a limited amount of time left to access the show because the streamer is set to remove the title from its library. As a customary licensing agreement move, Netflix India will jettison Will Smith's famous sitcom and the platform reports that it will be available to stream till December 30 only.

Charlie Sheen-led 'Two and a Half Men' to be purged as well

Will Smith's show won't be the only popular title leaving Netflix India on December 30. Charlie Sheen-led 'Two and a Half Men', which also stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones in lead roles, will be purged from the platform on the said date but will remain available on Amazon Prime Video.

'Two and a Half Men' follows rich jingle writer Charlie (Sheen) whose "womanizing" merry ways in life are troubled when his recently-divorced brother Alan (Cryer) moves in with him. To add to this, Alan's pre-teen son Jake, too, comes over to stay on weekends which results in more frustration for Charlie.

In 2011, Charlie Sheen's derogatory comments about show co-creator Chuck Lorre resulted in his contract being terminated and later being replaced by Ashton Kutcher. As the billionaire entrepreneur Walden Schmidt who buys Charlie's house after his death, Kutcher was part of seasons 9 to 12.
