The Wheel of Time season 3 has finally arrived, and Prime Video has dropped the first teaser video and debut date for the new season. Renowned for its grand scale and outstanding acting, especially from Rosamund Pike as the Aes Sedai Moiraine and Josha Stradowski as Rand al'Thor, The Wheel of Time—adapted from Robert Jordan's bestselling fantasy series—has become a flagship title for the streaming site. Season 3 of the series will take viewers farther into Rand's adventures as the Dragon Reborn, a character empowered to rescue or destroy the world, according to prophecy.
At Prime Video's spectacular CCXP panel, they unveiled the first teaser for season three of The Wheel of Time. Season 3 will pick off just where season 2 left off, with the deaths of six people and Rand proclaiming the Dragon Reborn at Falme. It will feature a bloodier and darker conflict between Light and Dark. As the inevitable doom of her and Rand draws nearer, Moiraine casts a foreboding shadow in the official trailer for Prime Video. The teaser also confirms March 13, 2025, as the show's premiere date.
The new teaser indicates increasing stakes for the protagonists in The Wheel of Time. After season 2's events, Rand has to face his increasing power and the Black Ajah's rising influence. The formidable challenge of protecting Rand from the Dark has fallen on Moiraine and Egwene, whose relationship has transformed from that of mentor and mentee (Madeleine Madden). "Every future where I lived, Rand dies," Moiraine laments in the caravan, expressing her frustration with the seemingly impossible mission while adding that he can only survive if he dies.
Season 3 may adapt The Shadow Rising, the fourth book in Jordan's trilogy, by incorporating elements from The Dragon Reborn. It is quite probable that these events from the Wheel of Time books will bring Rand to the Aiel Waste, where he will embrace his destiny as the Car'a'carn, the Aiel's foretold leader. Simultaneously, old adversaries will lure Marcus Rutherford's Perrin back to the Two Rivers, threatening his homeland.
In season 3, the old and strong enemies known as The Forsaken will have a major part to play. Season 2's cliffhanger after Ishamael's death introduced Laia Costa's character, the dreamwalking channeller Moghedien, who may play a pivotal antagonistic role in season 3. The teaser clip highlights the intense strain building up as Rand's relationships with his companions fall apart, forcing Moiraine and Egwene to confront the ultimate question: Can the world truly put its trust in the Dragon Reborn to rescue it?
Viewers will have to wait till March 2025 to see how The Wheel of Time season 3, which adapts The Shadow Rising, further elevates the epic saga.
