This week’s upcoming film ‘The Vaccine War’, which stars two of the stellar actors in Bollywood in the form of Nana Patekar and Pallavi Joshi, finds itself in the list of most-awaited films of the season. The film has been directed by Vivek Agnihotri, who had earlier directed the hard hitting ‘The Kashmir Files’, a film that went onto become a blockbuster at the box office.
Plot
The film, which deals about India spearheading the much-needed breakthrough in the vaccine during the pandemic, sees Nana Patekar in the role of Balram Bhargava (former Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Vivek Agnihotri had revealed that even though Nana Patekar will be seen playing the role of Balram Bhargava, he did not interact with him for the reason that, if he did, he (Nana Patekar) would start mimicking him and that he would never be able to become him. Vivek also revealed that, Nana has played Balram Bhargava so nicely that even Balram Bhargava couldn't believe that it was him.
Trailer
The official trailer of the movie termed this film as ‘India’s first bio-science film’. The film’s premise deals with India’s role in making the breakthrough vaccine, which had been kept as a top secret till the time it got officially announced. The trailer also showed the scientists’ uphill task of making the vaccine when they had resistance from many sides, including a certain section of the media that claimed, “India can’t do it”.
Poster
The film poster of ‘The Vaccine War’ was simple, yet effective and stunning. It showed Nana Patekar and Pallavi Joshi in one frame, Anupam Kher, Raima Sen and others in the other frame and a bunch of ladies in the centre. The common factor that bound them all was the vaccine.
