The Trauma Code - Heroes on Call Twitter Review: Ju Ji-hoon as a chaos-maker yet life-saver Dr. Baek Kang-hyuk steals the spotlight

Ju Ji-hoon played the role of a maverick doctor in the new medical drama, titled, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. The series explores emergency medicine in an underfunded hospital. The eight-episodic series was released on January 24 on Netflix. Baek Gang-hyeok (Ju Ji-hoon) joins a university hospital known for its struggling trauma team. His arrival creates chaos because he possesses exceptional surgical skills and knows how to survive in conflict zones worldwide. As the series dropped, fans took to their X (formerly Twitter) accounts and shared their reviews. 

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call receives praise from fans

Ju Ji-hoon plays the role of a Trauma surgeon at Hankuk National University Hospital. He is appointed by the Health Minister. The moment he enters the hospital, he starts shocking other doctors as he is an exceptionally skilled doctor who saves his patients with a cool mind. The series has funny yet serious scenes that keep you hooked on the plot.

Praising the series, one fan said, "There’s so much happening in all the episodes of this drama. You’ll never get bored. A highly recommended medical series. With a very handsome fiery doctor with a heart." 

Another commented, "Baek Kanghyuk secretly smiling at the back after Jaewon picked trauma surgery."

Fans demand The Trauma Code Season 2

Netflix's first original medical K-drama, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is based on the web novel Trauma Center: Golden Hour by Hansanleega. Additionally, it is penned by Choi Tae-kang.

Ju Ji-hoon, who was last seen playing a doctor in the 2013 Korean drama Medical Top Team, calls The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call “the most exhausting project of his 20-year career”.

Talking about the action scenes in the show, the actor said in an interview with allkpop, “Even with the same type of action, I made sure to approach every scene with a new perspective."

Apart from Ju Ji-hoon, the cast also includes Choo Young-woo, Ha Young, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jung Jae-kwang.
