The Trauma Code - Heroes on Call First Episode Preview: Ju Ji-hoon as maverick doctor jumps heroically from helicopter to rescue a patient

After gaining immense love and praise from Light Shop, Ju Ji-hoon is all set to be seen as a doctor in the upcoming medical drama, titled, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. The series explores emergency medicine in an underfunded hospital. The series will premiere on January 24 on Netflix. Ahead of the release, the makers dropped a jaw-dropping preview of the first episode. 

Ju Ji-hoon sets to win hearts again in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call

Netflix K-content shared an exclusive preview of the first episode of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call on January 23, a day before the release, on their YouTube channel. Naturally, the preview raised anticipation for the plot as Ju Ji-hoon is all set to be seen as a maverick doctor in the series.

The preview begins with Ji-hoon jumping from an emergency helicopter along with a trainee doctor to save a patient's life who is stuck on a deserted island. Ju Ji-hoon as Dr. Baek Gang-hyeok looks as heroic as ever as he is quick in his action to save the patient's life, however, the latter remains unconscious.

While treating the patient, the trainee doctor notices one sentence on the cuff of Ji-hoon's hand and the text reads, "On Call For Life AFG 2014.07.10." He senses something suspicious and the series will explore it all eventually. The preview further shows them helping the patient to get into the helicopter by a stretcher which is tied with ropes.

The trailer for The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call shows a struggling and underfunded critical trauma team at a university hospital that is revitalized after the arrival of their new director, Dr. Baek Gang-hyeok. He previously worked in war zones and knows what to do in an emergency. 

Netflix describes the protagonist, "Genius surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk has insanely high medical skills and an ego to match. To create a top-tier trauma center, the war-seasoned doctor arrives — bringing his blunt but skilled ways to transform his team into life-saving mavericks."

For the unversed, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call adapts the web novel Trauma Center: Golden Hour by Hansanleega, inspired by the author's experiences as an ENT doctor.

The cast includes Ju Ji-hoon, Choo Young-woo, Ha Young, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jung Jae-kwang. The series is directed by Do-yun Lee.

Meanwhile, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is set to land on Netflix on January 24.
