Disney+ Hotstar is bringing a new film, titled, The Storyteller. It is based on the legendary Satyajit Ray's short story Golpo Bolo Tarini Khuro. Starring Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain in the lead roles, the film will explore friendship, betrayal, and personal growth. The trailer of the film already garnered much attention. The Storyteller plot
The Storyteller will bring Satyajit Ray's classic short story, Golpo Bolo Tarini Khuro to life. Paresh Rawal plays Tarini Bandyopadhyay. He is an excellent storyteller who tells stories about adventure, fantasy, mystery, and many more. However, he does not believe in contributing his tales to paper. Even though his family members keep pushing him to contact the papers, he remains adamant. One day, he meets Adil Hussain, a rich businessman suffering from chronic insomnia. He asks Tarini to tell him stories as he is unable to sleep.
They begin to share a good bond eventually. In the meanwhile, Adil learns that Tarini is not interested in contributing his stories to papers. He takes advantage of it and publishes Tarini's stories as his own and starts achieving great success. Things take a serious turn when Tarini discovers the truth. He begins to grow a sense of betrayal. This revelation sets Tarini on a journey of self-reflection and eventually leads him to decide to take a stand to claim rightful ownership of the stories.
The film is set in Kolkata and offers glimpses of the famous places of the city. The background music Aha Ki Ananda by Anup Ghoshal has been used. The song is from the popular movie, Hirak Rajar Deshe, directed by Satyajit Ray.

Apart from Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain, the film also stars Anindita Bose, Rohit Mukherjee, Revathy, and Tannishtha Chatterjee among others. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Salil Chaturvedi, Suchhanda Chatterjee, and Shubha Shetty, The Storyteller is backed by Jio Studios, Purpose Entertainment, and Quest Films. The music is composed by Hriju Roy.
