We had already reported that veteran actor Sarathkumar will be headlining the Tamil film titled The Smile Man. The makers of the film on Thursday, December 19, announced that the censor formalities of The Smile Man have been completed, and the film is all set to release in theatres soon. Having received a U/A certificate, it will hit theatres on December 27.

The Smile Man is an upcoming Tamil film featuring actor Sarathkumar in the lead role. The film marks the actor's 150th outing. In the latest update, The Smile Man has received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board and is all set to hit big screens on December 27.
The Smile Man is directed by duo Syam and Praveen. In the teaser which was released earlier, it was revealed that Sarathkumar plays a man who is suffering from Alzheimer's, as it slowly worsens his health. With a case on hand to solve, and his memories fading, the protagonist is tasked to find the killer.
The upcoming film is produced by Salildas, Aneesh Haridasan, and Anandan T. The cast of The Smile Man includes Sri Kumar, Sijaarose, Ineya, George Maryan, Rajkumar, Kumar Natarajan, Baby Azhiya, and others. The technical crew consists of music scored by Gavaskar Avinash with the story penned by Kamala Alchemis. Vikram Mohan has shot the film and San Lokesh has handled the edits. The post-theatrical streaming rights are bagged by Aha Tamil.
Sarathkumar’s 2024 films on OTT
Sarathkumar appeared in three Tamil films so far, Hit List, Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, and Nirangal Moondru. While the first film features the actor as a senior cop on a hunt for a mysterious figure, it is available on Aha Tamil and the OTTplay Premium app. Meanwhile, Sarathkumar co-stars Vijay Antony in Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, which is streaming on Prime Video. Sarathkumar was last seen in Nirangal Moondru. The OTT rights of the film have been bagged by Aha Tamil, with an OTT release date yet to be announced.
