The last few months have been about obsessing over how good The Penguin is and then scouting through the internet for any new updates on Season 2 of the show. Derived as a spin-off from The Batman Part I released in 2021, the series focuses on the rise of Oz Cobb from a rookie dealer to the Kingpin of Gotham's crime syndicate. The show explored the alleys and life of Gotham so well that fans were enthralled and loved every bit of it. Today, Colin Farrell even won the Best Actor trophy at the Golden Globes, which is reason enough for the studio to fast-track Season 2. It turns out that now Matt Reeves, Colin Farrell, and Dylan Clark have all spoken about Season 2 of the show on the red carpet for the prestigious award night. The Penguin Season 2 Update
For the unversed, with Lauren LeFranc as the showrunner, The Penguin had Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark as executive producers. The show stars Colin Farrell as Oz and Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone/Gigante in the lead alongside many intriguing characters. As per Matt Reeves’ latest comments, they are, of course, discussing the second season but are yet to settle on an idea. Colin added that they also need to figure out how it aligns with The Batman 2.
"We are talking about doing another season," Colin Farrell told THR. "Lauren and Dylan are talking about what we would do, and it's really about coming up with the right idea and also about the timing. You know, we're doing The Batman Part 2, and so how all of that fits together—but we're really excited about doing another season, and we'll just have to figure out exactly the right idea."

Meanwhile, Dylan Clark, speaking to TVLine, revealed that quite a few conversations are underway about a possible Season 2 of The Penguin. "If we could come up with an idea for what a second season might be, there’s a chance that [HBO CEO] Casey Bloys and the HBO team would want to pursue that," Clark said. He added, "There have been quiet conversations about that."
The Penguin Season 2 Update
The show follows Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb, tracing his rise to the top of Gotham’s crime syndicate. The official synopsis from the makers reads: "Starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka 'The Penguin'), the eight-episode DC Studios The Batman epic crime saga that began with Warner Bros. Pictures' global blockbuster The Batman. Developed by DC Studios, the series centers on the character played by Farrell in the film. The show follows Oz Cobb right when Gotham was flooded by The Riddler."
