Earlier today, Daali Dhananjaya released a new single, Hathro Yellow Board, from the upcoming Kannada film Yellow Board , which has Pradeep Bogadi in the lead. What’s special about this number composed by Adhvik has been sung by the late Puneeth Rajkumar. And even better is the fact that Puneeth raps his way through the song written by his James director, Chetan Kumar.
Given that the film is about cab drivers and how integral a part of society they are, with leading man Pradeep playing a yellow board driver, the song also highlights all of this. Fans of the late Power Star, however, will love the fleeting glimpses of him singing and thoroughly enjoying himself in the process. With his trademark smile, Puneeth can be seen happily singing, asking for a retake, among others. According to members of the team, Hathro Yellow Board, may be among the last few songs that the late actor had sung before his tragic passing in October last year. Puneeth was known to enjoy singing playback, often doing it for free for teams of smaller films, and even if he did charge , the proceeds would be used to fund his various charitable causes.
Produced by Vintage Films, Yellow Board, directed by Thrilok Reddy, stars Pradeep, Ahalya Suresh, Sneha Kushi, Sadhu Kokila and Monica Tavanam, among others. The film is currently slated for a March 4 theatrical release and the song release marks the beginning of promotions for the team.
Up next, says Pradeep, is the trailer launch, which the team hopes to do on February 18, followed by several on-ground pre-release events, where they will felicitate cab drivers, in association with cab associations across the state.
